So you have a cherished piece, and not sure how to make it work in your modern lifestyle? here are some tips from me about how to go about it.

This piece, a Grandmother’s chair, redone for my brother, a musician. Easy re-upholstery fix. And was Havanese approved.

Grandmother’s delicate china- a little different. Not wanting to get the Grandma style china hutch in a modern hi-rise apartment. Found a bespoke corrugated metal sideboard. So hint of the china, but not all the way.

While we are at it, added some new life to some of Grandma’s WW2 Japanese art with blackened chinoserie frames above the “china cabinet”.

Another pretty chair, somewhat bland. Add metallic paint and a handpainted linen damask to liven it up!

Dad the photographer took an amazing sunset photo in Florida. And then I enlisted talented cousin to paint the photo for a large wall installation. Hard to tell which is which!

The Old antique bed in Brooklyn. Hideous in pink before- Gorgeous in blue velvet after.

Just thought I’d share a few solutions for precious memories that literally kept me up at night!
