Re-Upholstering an Elaborate Antique Bed

Over the years, I have tried my hand in a few various physical interior design projects. This was on of my biggest ones. Which I do not regret. But it literally took a month. But in the month of January in New York City, not such a bad thing to have something to do inside.

So this bed. Looks pretty now. But let me take you on a journey!

Originally, it was this This Pink Monstrosity.

And it was in bit of an outdated decor situation in a Brooklyn Loft.

Here is when I stripped it down to the studs, so to speak. And chose to recover in a luxurious light blue velvet from the perennial favorite Mood Fabrics in NYC.

Hand tufted it. Hand Nailed the trim. Hand made the covered buttons. Yes. It was some work.

Had a little styling help from this cutie!

But the results were totally worth it. At first started with this somewhat over the top bedding (but I stand by it! citron is one of my favorites of all time)

Eventually ended with the rental appropriate look as it stands now. And this room currently is used as a glamorous Bridal Suite for Weddings in this historical Brooklyn building.
